The current version of the Swiss Food Composition Database (V 7.0) contains information on 1220 foodstuffs. For almost all foods contained in the database, full details are presented on the macronutrients (fats, saturated fatty acids, carbohydrates, sugar, dietary fibre, protein) as well as for water, alcohol and energy content. The micronutrient content (vitamins, minerals) and a more detailed fat composition (groups of fatty acid and certain individual fatty acids) are also specified for most foods.  The Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO provides the data in four languages (English, German, French, Italian) and free of charge to all interested parties. The data may also be used for commercial purposes (e.g. integration into food composition calculation software or nutrition diary app) and scientific purposes, subject to acknowledgment of the source.
